The Adventures of Blake and Mortimer: From the Characters of Edgar P. Jacobs Volume 25:
The Valley of the Immortals, Volume 2, The Thousandth Arm of the Mekong
Worried about Mortimer who has been kidnapped by General Xi-Li's men, Captain Blake, accompanied by Chinese nationalist agent Ylang Ti, sets out to find his friend.
Using the clues that Mortimer had the intelligence to sow in his path, they gradually trace the trail that should lead them to him.
For their part, Mortimer and Han-Dié, a nationalist archaeologist who betrayed his government to sell historical documents to General Xi-Li, are forcibly taken to the warlord's lair.
Mortimer takes advantage of this trip to learn more about the documents that will prove to Xi-Li that he is indeed the descendant and heir of Shi-Huangdi, the first emperor of China ... whose legend said he would have been taken at the end of his life to the Valley of the Immortals. Arrived at the prison camp, Mortimer finds Nasir, prisoner of Xi-Li and in agony.
Determined to save his friend with a miraculous "pearl of life", Mortimer escapes with Mister Chou in search of the famous Valley of the Immortals where these pearls would be hidden.
What if this mysterious place wasn't just a myth? Will Blake be able to reach Mortimer in time? Can our two heroes save Nasir? Above all, will they manage to save Hong Kong in time from the destruction projects hatched by General Xi-LI and the strange engineer Chase ... alias, Colonel Olrik?
